Offerings and Stupas in Bhutan

Offerings and stupas can be seen throughout Bhutan, an almost 100% Buddhist country. Offerings often take the form of prayer flags and prayer wheels. On the flags and in the wheels are written prayers and sacred texts. The flags blow in the wind and disseminate these prayers as do the turns of the prayer wheels. The prayer wheels are usually moved by hand, but also sometimes by water and wind.

Stupas are sacred structures found through Bhutan and other places where Buddhism is practiced. Offerings of miniature stupas are also pictured below.
