My Seven-Season Friendship with a Russian Spy
My Seven-Season Friendship with a Russian Spy was published in Atticus Review in March 2020. The poem — inspired by The Americans, a spy thriller series set in the 1980s and which features two Soviet KGB officers posing as an American married couple — is from Lynn McGee's manuscript that blends personal narrative with the themes of film and streaming series, The TV in the Other Room. The soundtrack is scored for strings, brass, synth bass, and a variety of field recordings from personal collections and freesound.org. Russian language segments were created using Google Translate and Amazon Poly.
Tracks is the title poem from Lynn McGee's 2019 book of poetry published by Broadstone Books. Reading by Lynn McGee. Composition, keyboard, and field recordings by Bill Parod. Percussion by I Gusti Ngurah Kertayuda.
